Not gonna lie, I messed up the speeds the first time playing it (I thought b was the 45 side) and I love the way the A side is at 33 1/2, I recommend giving that a listen. I hear complaints about crackling, mine sounds just fine but hey that's Aphex Twin fans for you.

No problems on mine either. Great little ep. The only problem was looking up the speeds for either sides but that can be explained by usual afx asshattery.

I have three copies of this to sealed and one opened the one I listened to sounds absolutely amazing. Not sure what people are talking about with the sound quality? Mine sounds great however I used a 1200 techniques turntables and a decent sound system to play this out of. Check your needles?

Many people have reported problems with this pressing. Gladly my copy sounds dead quiet and absolutely fine. Leaving aside the pressing issue, I think the slightly muffled sound is intentional for an aesthetic purpose, not a mastering issue. RDJ has been aiming for that sound in many songs of his latest releases. I think these are great versions of already great tracks. I am really happy with my copy and would recommend anyone to pick one up. Good luck!

My pressing sounds okay overall but once you get to the inner grooves, it starts to crackle and spew static like firecrackers in a frying pan, quite disconcerting but it's nothing that can't be fixed through digitisation and extensive crackle removal.Edit : this is true for both sides.

I have a friend who is experiencing the exact same problems, he brought his copy to my house it sounds great. His problem was he has a straight arm turntable?! Do you have a straight arm turntable is well? A straight arm turntable will affect how your record is played. A curved tonearm allows the music to be played from beginning to end exactly the same. This is just a tip from me to you.

I checked my pressing as soon as I received it and there were no obvious issues with it, although I was playing it on a temporary setup so maybe I will check it again properly and update as necessary. I think the marketplace is the place to get this record to ensure no dodgy pressings.

I got this from pre order, received the record and had no problems what so ever. I guess there must've been a couple of bad runs or something. Dont be discouraged in getting one, the tracks are really nice.

The track itself is above average compared to Syro. However, I just returned the second replacement... three copies, and all have the noise problem. Right channel, periodic noise every 10s or so on both sides. Awful pressing! How can they sell this kind of garbage!?

Sorry to say but this record sounds like shit. Its low on treble, it sounds muffled with allot of surface noise. I am very disappointed on this release.

Yep, just bought a copy yesterday and the surface noise is unbelievably bad. This is the year 2015. Electronic music records i have from the 20+ years ago sound ten times better. How does that happen? The people responsible need to sort their shit out!

One of my thoughts on this is it could be due to the recent increase in demand for vinyl within the past several years and the result is more being made at a quicker rate… the quality suffers as does the quality control. I've heard complaints about many recent vinyl pressings… often times re-issues or repressings. I've been lucky enough to not get any myself, but I also buy a lot of CDs too and therefore don't always get the vinyl copies… in part because of hearing bad things about the vinyl pressing, I'll opt for the CD if available. I did get a copy of marchrom30 yesterday and mine played/sounded/looked great.

My copy sounds good. But oddly side A is 45 and side B is 33, assuming this based on the digital release and Japanese Syro bonus track. As for the actual tunes, Marchrom is a slow burner, takes a while to appreciate but it is a great, relaxed track with some cool rhythmical elements. Christmas Evet10 is a rawer sounding version of the Syro track, a bit more stripped down but with some subtle extra melodies, missing the long bongo outro. the fast version of Marchchrom isn't very interesting to me, I prefer the slower one and its inclusion seems a bit pointless. A nice little record although 17cad dollars seems a lot, in saying that I cannot complain given the 230 odd tracks Rich has given us for free via soundcloud. CCAI is definitely better value.

Ultrasonically cleaned the vinyl before playing for the first time. Dead quiet pressing, no noise issues. Thin vinyl appears to be warped slightly. Sound is dynamic especially on side A which spins at 45rpm.

Mine is a bit warped - but I can live with it. Very occassional very light noise but again, nothing to serious. Still great to listen to. Beautifully pressed vinyl does still happen - but more often we got something like this!

Got mine from a local shop, and it sounds great. I'm also playing with an $80 cart on a 1200. Sometimes it helps to clean even new vinyl before playing, as there can be debris from the pressing plan that can cause some surface noise. The Discwasher is a great thing for that.

Mine has a bit of surface noise noticeable at the beginning of side A and in the gaps on side B. Annoying but not terrible. Looking at the comments I figure it's the same everyone else has.

Yes! Sounds like someone put sand in the grooves on the begining of Side A, i'm not going to even bother listening to the rest, I'm getting a replacement from Amazon. My CCAI pressing from Warp looked kinda funky, but played fine. Back when Amazon were selling $20 3xLPs of Syro, I got one with a hairline on the last track that was audible, so I got a replacement that sounded fine.

my copy of this sounds ok (not great, just ok) but i must say i was fearing the worst after listening to the awful pressing of computer controlled instruments, i think that sounded awful! loads of noise and crackle
