Riding might be one of the best Apparat's tracks, and I don't understand why he never put it on an LP.

A short-but-sweet selection of IDM from Apparat. SHAPEMODES might only have 6 tracks, but it certainly feels long on quality, from the melodic and glitchy "Solaris" to the ethereal vocals of "Riding" above the blipping. "Get Out Of Your Krib" has vocals as well, but they're chopped and fluctuating, replicating the music itself. "Sinus" sails along on a sea of melancholy, and "Radau" suggests Apparat's later work, in all of its syncopated glory. An outstanding piece of work.
