Ferment is the debut studio album by English alternative rock band Catherine Wheel, released 9 June 1992 by Fontana Records. Four songs from the album Shallow, I Want to Touch You, She's My Friend and Salt had previously appeared on independently released 12 EPs, and were re-recorded for inclusion on the album. The album's lead single, Black Metallic, reached No. 9 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and its video earned heavy rotation on MTV. Catherine Wheel. UMG от лица компании Virgin EMI ASCAP. Bowery Electric - Beat 1996 Full Wheel's debut album Ferment marks an important and spectacular moment in rock music. Rock and roll has typically had two core inspirations: love and war. Most of rock concerns itself with human emotions. Catherine Wheel's debut concerns itself with neither. Instead, the band delves head and tail into mood - finds it, swims around in it, and rocks the heck out of it. This album doesn't have any discernible inspiration because it instead strives to be the inspiration in the sounds it creates. What a novel idea. It's the first rock-sound album I've loved. Pretty standard quality for a Music on Vinyl repress: not outstanding, but FAR from bad.
Sounds reasonably good, but would benefit greatly from being on a double LP set. The bass is just a little on the lean side and this might be down to the running length. But overall, it certainly sounds decent.
