Welcome To Joyland, the only album by Leda, is in fact a rather obscure production by Peter Baumann, though his name does not appear on the album at all. Welcome To Joyland is somewhat the missing link between the solo albums Trans Harmonic Nights recorded in the same year. Welcome to Joyland, 2011. Welcome to Joyland, 03:57. Endless Race, 03:48. My favourite store . The album Leda - Welcome To Joyland was produced by Peter Baumann, former member of the electronic music pioneers -Tangerine Dream- and has originally been released in 1978. The female singer remains absolutely unknown. The whole Leda project is actually something like a Peter Baumann blueprint. The synth melodies and arpreggiator loops bearing Baumann's handwriting flowing easy an innovative over a basement of analog drums which are inviting with straight beats to the dance floor. or open in our Desktop app. Cancel anytime

You can hear ex TD member Peter Baumanns musical touches all over this album. Way ahead of its time and never released on CD unfortunately!
this record in one of my favorite german electronic music productions. At the peak I thought I had about 5 Mint copies of this album and want to share 3 interesting facts I found out about this LP. 1.) There are existing 2 german "Metronome" vintage pressing which look almost identical. The difference is that one LP has a cover with ivory white coloured background and a very thick high gloss lamination. First I thought this would be the first pressing because the cover looks more like the heavy quality which was used from the early to mid 70's but after comparing it to Hans Brandeis (Cyril Claud) deposit copy from the 70's I'm sure this is a rare 2nd pressing! The first pressing has a common white background and the printing on the front looks all in all brighter. Instead of the thick lamination it has a gloss finish. I think the ivory one is the rarer of both versions because I found only one copy during my time as collector.2.) The french pressing sounds slightly different. While the german pressing seems to be mastered like a (kraut)rock LP the french pressing was mixed like a disco production (high compression, usa style)3.) The Leda album which was released on Metronome is actually the second take of this project. There was an unreleased version which was recorded earlier with a girl from the Berlin Krautrock scene as female singer. After the recording was finished she changed her mind because she thought she could not prostitute herself for a commercial project ...
Interesting detail, digitalist. I could swear i also saw one German pressing with a totally different label printing. Not a simple Metronome label, but with a full color printing with the same "Leda"-typography as printed on the sleeve ...
